Six Cool Career Infographics

Visual learners, rejoice!  Admist the sea of vanilla text out there that includes most of MY blog offerings, there are some more visionary souls among us who have done a great job of capturing some key career insights in “infographic” form.  So for those of you out there that are like me, and always find these complex graphical representations fascinating, I’m sending along a series of relevant ones I’ve turned up lately in my daily online sleuthing around the job market ecosystem…

Anatomy of Allied Health Careers (Erin Palmer. U.S. News Directory)
This graphic showcases 14 career options in the allied health field projected to grow by at least 29% in the coming years; includes salary averages and a brief description of each field

Choosing a Career Infographic (Lindsey Savino, Daily Infographic Blog)
Sort of a “free form” mental map of the various considerations involved in selecting a new career, sprinked with facts and figures about the labor market and the “7 most satisfying jobs” that exist (according to one survey, at least)

Under Pressure: The Misperceptions Pushing Down on Talent in 2012 (CareerBuilder)
Provides a visual overview of the change in employer/employee relationships over recent years and how companies today are addressing areas like employee morale, training, and skills development

Employers Are Scoping Out Job Candidates on Social Media (CareerBuilder)
Another interesting infographic from the CareerBuilder job site, outlining the extent to which companies and recruiters are using social media sites to check out candidates, prior to hiring them

Career of the Future: Data Scientist (Chris Taylor, Mashable Business)
Interesting (and large) infographic documenting a study about the growing number of jobs in “data science” and the specific qualifications companies will likely be looking for in candidates pursuing these fields

The Mother Lode (Various Authors on Pinterest)
Last but not least, as I ran a final search for some additional interesting infographics related to career issues, I stumbled across a treasure-trove of a few dozen relevant visuals via the Pinterest site, submitted or “pinned” by various authors…

Again, these types of charts might not be for everybody, but I find them addicting — since they tend to add a lot of pizzazz to what otherwise would be some very dry, run-of-the-mill recitations of career trends and information.  Hope you enjoyed the links!
